FAQ

What is MuseSounds Pro?
MuseSounds Pro is a subscription that gives you access to a growing library of professional-grade instruments for MuseScore Studio, designed to deliver more realistic and expressive playback.

What’s included with the subscription?
You get access to the curated selection of professional instruments included in MuseSounds Pro, plus new Pro libraries added while your subscription is active.

Note: Not all MuseSounds libraries are included in the subscription.

The catalog includes orchestral, choir, keyboard, percussion, jazz, synth, and vocal libraries from partners such as Spitfire Audio, Vienna Symphonic Library, Audio Imperia, Muse Sounds, and others. The collection continues to grow.

Who is MuseSounds Pro for?
MuseSounds Pro is ideal for composers, arrangers, educators, and notation users who want high-quality playback.

Do these sounds work only in MuseScore Studio?
Yes. MuseSounds Pro instruments are designed specifically for MuseScore Studio and integrate automatically with notation playback.

How do I download and manage the sounds?
All instruments are downloaded and managed through the MuseHub desktop application. Once installed, they are accessible in the MuseScore Studio Mixer Sound menu.

Are these sounds optimized for notation playback?
Yes. MuseSounds Pro instruments respond automatically to dynamics, articulations, and notation symbols, with no manual setup required.

How is this different from free MuseSounds (MuseSounds Core)?
Free MuseSounds include a limited core set of instruments. MuseSounds Pro unlocks premium libraries with distinctive sonic character and, in some cases, deeper sampling and greater expressive detail.

Does MuseSounds Pro replace free MuseSounds?
No. Free MuseSounds remain available. MuseSounds Pro adds access to professional libraries on top of the free collection.

Do I need to download all instruments at once?
No. You can download only the instruments you need using MuseHub.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?
If you cancel, you’ll lose access to MuseSounds Pro instruments at the end of your billing cycle, but your scores remain intact. Any individually purchased libraries will still be available.

What if I already own some of the libraries in the subscription?
You’ll continue to have access to any libraries you’ve purchased. If you end your subscription, your purchased instruments remain available.

Are new instruments added over time?
Yes. New libraries and updates are added regularly and included while your subscription is active.

Can I use MuseSounds Pro sounds in a DAW?
No. MuseSounds Pro instruments are currently supported only inside MuseScore Studio.

Can I use MuseSounds Pro for professional use?
Yes. MuseSounds Pro libraries may be used in professional projects, including commercial audio for film, television, broadcast, radio, video games, online streaming, and other media.

Standard restrictions apply. Individual samples may not be redistributed or resold on their own.

Is an internet connection required?
An internet connection is required to download and activate instruments. Some online instruments, such as Cantai, also require an active internet connection for playback. We recommend keeping the MuseHub desktop app open while using MuseScore Studio as license checks and updates are needed and Cantai requires both to be active to work.

Can I buy these instruments individually instead?
Most instruments are available as individual purchases, but MuseSounds Pro provides access to a much larger collection for a lower ongoing cost.

Does MuseSounds Pro work on both Windows and macOS?
Yes. MuseSounds Pro works on supported versions of Windows and macOS via MuseHub and MuseScore Studio. Please ensure that you are using the latest versions of the MuseHub desktop app and MuseScore Studio.
