When you install the new Muse Hub, it will attempt to migrate your previous Muse Sounds downloads, and clean up files created by the original Muse Hub.
You may see a migration process running, which asks for elevated privileges (or "root access") so that it can move those files to a "per user" access level, and ensure that the previously installed content is modified so that the new Muse Hub (which runs on a per-user, rather than a root level) can continue to access and update them.
macOS
On macOS, there is an additional "clean up" step the new Muse Hub performs when updating from the original Muse Hub, which is to remove a few files that are no longer needed. If the migration process is unable to do this, then you can always delete these manually:
- Delete ~/Library/Containers/Muse Hub
- Delete /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.muse.service
If the Hub is unable to migrate your existing downloads, you may have to download the Muse Sounds libraries again from the new Muse Hub.
Windows
When Muse Hub detects a previous installation, it will run the migration wizard. Simply follow the steps and your existing Muse Sounds will be migrated.
If you prefer not to migrate and start fresh, close Muse Hub, delete the "C:\ProgramData\MuseHub" directory and launch Muse Hub again.
